Elizabeth Bryant is a visual artist who works with photography, collage, sculpture and installation. The subject of her work is how one navigates the contemporary world, not as autobiography, but as an amalgamation of the interests you might have at particular time and place. Living among the varied landscapes and cultures of Los Angeles has had a tremendous impact on her work and has been the primary source of many of the conceptual and stylistic elements she uses. Each project combines objects, images and materials that are often ignored or overlooked, investing them with new meaning and resonance and encouraging pleasure, imagination and thought.
Bryant has presented numerous solo projects at respected venues in Los Angeles and had work included in dozens of noteworthy group shows locally and across the country as well as in London, Paris, Dubrovnik, Croatia and Neringa, Lithuania. Her work is included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Cincinnati Art Museum the Art, the Design & Architecture Museum at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the Washington State Arts Program, the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris and the California State University, Los Angeles Contemporary Collection. She is the recipient of an NEA/WESTAF Individual Artist Fellowship in New Genres and a nominee for an Anonymous was a Woman Award.
