Nine One Special
A series of plaques were installed around the historic Union Station in Los Angeles and audio readings were broadcast in the ornate waiting room. The artist interviewed passengers about their travels as they waited to board or after they exited trains passing thru Union Station in 1992. Selections from these interviews formed the body of the text on the plaques and the audio broadcasts. The tone of the audio broadcasts was done in such a manner that they resembled the announcement for train arrivals and departures.
